This painting is off to Italy to the town of Fabriano – famous for it’s paper!
The RSW is having a series of painting demos during the annual show. I am with my friend and fellow painter Ann Wegmuller who I work with on a weekly basis. We are going to talk about our approach to painting landscape and our use of water based materials. Sat 14th Jan 11-13:00 Derek Robertson
The season is upon us and I am exhibiting my work in two exhibitions over the festive period: Along with other members of the RSW, I will be showing work at Gallery Q in Dundee from January 2017. I will also be taking part in the winter show and group exhibitions at the Kilmorak Gallery in Inverness-shire.
I’m excited to be entering my work in the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition. You can see it at the exhibition in London this September. The painting I’m submitting is “Following Tracks” (watercolour on gesso panel – 122cm x 91cm):
I have been asked by Fabriano in Italy to submit a watercolour for a competition in June. The painting I’ve selected is from my ‘ Making tracks’ series on 200lb HP watercolour paper by Fabriano. Fingers crossed!
I’m excited to be part of the Perpetual Discovery exhibition at the TATHA Gallery in Newport. The invitation can be viewed below, but if you can’t make the show you can see my work in my gallery or at the TATHA website.
